Gisela
b. 757, France; d. 810, Chelles, near Paris
Gisela was the sister of Charlemagne, king of the Franks, and daughter of Bertha. She dedicated her life to Christianity, beginning as a nun at the abbey of Chelles, near Paris, where she eventually became abbess.
