Virtual Teacher Workshop: Beyond Representation

Thursday, June 18, 2020

4–5:30 pm

Online

Examine ideas of LGBTQ+ identity and representation in the arts through the work and process of guest artist Jes Fan, who uses sculpture and video to question how we understand and categorize bodies. This online professional development workshop for K–12 teachers explores Fan’s work, including a film viewing and group discussion, to provide strategies for engaging a plurality of queer identities and narratives that go beyond representation—and toward radical inclusion.

Offered in conjunction with Art21.

This workshop, being held via Zoom, is free, but space is limited and registration required.
