Member Mornings: Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys

Saturday, February 24, 2024

10–11 am

Great Hall, 1st Floor

Enjoy a Members-only morning viewing of Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys, the first major exhibition devoted to this world-class collection of works by multigenerational Black diasporic artists. As their holdings show, musical and cultural icons Swizz Beatz (Kasseem Dean) and Alicia Keys champion a philosophy of “Black artists supporting Black artists.” “Giants” refers to several aspects of their collection: the renown of legendary artists such as Gordon Parks and Jean-Michel Basquiat, the impact of canon-expanding contemporary artists such as Lorna Simpson and Nina Chanel Abney, and the monumental works by such creators as Derrick Adams, Arthur Jafa, and Meleko Mokgosi.

Also enjoy a complimentary coffee station during your visit.

Free for Members; registration is required. Standard Membership admission benefits apply. The last exhibition entry is at 10:45 am.
