First Saturday: Alter/Altar

Saturday, May 2, 5–10 pm

Behold spring—a time of contemplation and change—with art, literature, and performances from the Asian American and Pacific Islander diasporas in Brooklyn and beyond. The AAPI Heritage Month edition of First Saturdays takes its theme from both seasonal transitions and the Rubin Museum Tibetan Buddhist Shrine Room, a place to learn, reflect, and seek inspiration.

Free; registration  is required and includes Museum general admission. Tickets will be released on a rolling basis starting April 10 for Members and April 13 for the public. Sign up for the Brooklyn Museum newsletter  to be notified of the next release.

The lineup is subject to change; revisit this page for the latest details. For accessibility accommodations, including ASL interpretation, email access@brooklynmuseum.org .

First Saturdays are supported by the Office of the Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso. Made possible by the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation and the Wallace Foundation Community Programs Fund, established by the Wallace Foundation.
