Chancellor's Conference Day

Tuesday, November 8, 2011, 9:30 am–3 pm

    Join us for a one-day professional development workshop for K–12 teachers interested in taking their classes on a self-guided visit to the Brooklyn Museum. Each workshop will focus on a key theme, exploring artworks, teaching strategies, and possible gallery and classroom activities relevant to that theme. Spend time with masterworks from the collection, customize a visit for your students, and receive free teacher resources.

    Workshop A: Art and Belief
    Learn about artworks that embody spiritual practices from around the world. Register for Art and Belief .

    Workshop B: Art and the Environment
    Explore artworks inspired by or made with materials from the natural world. Register for Art and the Environment .

    Workshop C: Materials and Process
    Discover some of the influences, working methods, and materials used by ancient and contemporary artists. Register for Materials and Process .

    Workshop D: People in Art
    Investigate how the concept of identity is expressed through works of art from around the world. Register for People in Art .
