Art History Happy Hour: Really Free
Our season of Art History Happy Hour kicks off with an evening of lighthearted lectures and cocktails inspired by our special exhibition Really Free: The Radical Art of Nellie Mae Rowe. Dive into Rowe’s expressive practice, which served as a radical act of self-expression and liberation for a Black woman artist in the Jim Crow–era American South. Hear from Catherine Morris, Sackler Senior Curator, and Jenée-Daria Strand, Curatorial Associate, Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art, as well as Chef Cheryl Smith of the neighborhood staple Cheryl’s Global Soul.
For access needs, please email us at access@brooklynmuseum.org.
Tickets are $45 and include one specialty cocktail, small bites, and after-hours admission to Really Free: The Radical Art of Nellie Mae Rowe. Additional beverages will be available for purchase. Member tickets are $40. Not a Member? Join today!
