Abstract: Culin refers to the 5000 objects in a collection from the Belgian Congo, including wood sculptures, musical instruments, ivory trumpets and carvings, bundles of native cloth and elaborately carved chairs; to 215 Bushongo objects in storage; the inferior value of collections offered by W.O. Oldman and Guillaume collection by the English sculptor Ward given to the National Museum in Washington, D.C.; collection given by King Leopold of Belgium to the American Museum of Natural History in N.Y. | |
