Description Side Chair: Beech, Klisnos shape, grained to simulate rosewood with gilded decoration; lyre back splat, with eagle head terminals, gilded wood strings and carved acanthus leaf decoration, supported on turned cross rail, classical gilded decoration on crest rail and side stiles; side stiles terminate in scroll top with applied boss on side and carved bracket scrolls on bases; bracket scrolls actually rest on side rails of seat; gilded carved acanthus leaf on front of front legs; rear legs splayed backwards, front legs splayed forward; slip seat upholstered in textured gray silk; one of a pair with 73.48.2. CONDITION - Overall wear of gilding; chi at front of let seat rail; finish generally crezzled; sturdy, not wobbly; slip seat affixed to frame.
