Description White porcelain pitcher, vitreous glaze, painted and gilded decorations. Pitcher supported on oval, flared foot rim; body bulges out at base, narrows around collar, then flares out around neck forming spout; undulating lip. Molded tan-colored tassel accented with gilding hangs below spout against a maroon colored ground; opposing ear-shaped strap handle. Body decorated with green and gold scrolling forms, gilded bands around lip and foot rim; handle painted tan with black strip down center and gilded edges. Gilded monogram on both sides of body, "M. E. S." in Gothic letters [the initials of Margaret Euphonia Smith, wife of Mr. Smith, owner of Union Porcelain Works]. Condition: Good; some losses to gilding; hairline cracks in base.
