Description |
Pewter teapot with hinged lid and wooden handle, Philadelphia type. Squat cylindrical (drum-shaped) body tapers slightly to shoulder; flat collar with round, raised opening at top. Wooden C-shaped handle with scrolled grip on top attached with pins and pewter collars. Opposing straight, cylindrical spout with flat-cut opening. Flat round lid hinged to collar near handle; center rises to narrow dome with urn-shaped finial. Decorated beaded band around bottom edge and shoulder of teapot and two bands around edge of lid.
CONDITION: Fair; allover tarnish, scratches, pitting, and spots of discoloration; corrosion around handle collars.
