Description | Blackware effigy vessel in the form of the Sicán Deity emerging from maize cobs that form his body. The bottle has a short, pedestal base, strap handle and tapered spout, which is the figure's headdress. The handle is decorated with two small modeled birds (possibly parrots) with beaks touching. There are two modeled, prone human figures beside the deity's head. Condition: one reclining figure is broken and missing; a section of the base is broken and missing; and the rim is chipped. |
