Description |
Pewter lamp; pedestal consists of stepped dome base rising to a narrow shaft that bulges in center and is decorated with bands. Shaft supports cylindrical oil reservoir with molded band around the bottom edge and around the shoulder; reservoir tapers above shoulder then rises to a short straight neck (threaded on inside) and round mouth. Flat round lid with single copper (?) feed tube sticking up through center screws into mouth. Removable copper (?) cone-shaped cap fits over feed tube; tiny holes in side of cap and top suggest that a now-lost chain once linked the cap to the lid.
CONDITION: Fair; overall pitting, especially heavy around reservoir; a few small dents in base; cap for feed tube bend along edge and corroded.
