Armchair of off-white fiberglass and chromed metal tubing with wooden arm rests. Back and seat continuous piece of fiberglass, general hour-glass shape bent to form seat and curved around edges to conform to human body. A continuous horizontal chromed metal tube wraps around back of chair to form both arms, then bends down around toward back, then runs underneath seat; this arm rail is bolted to chair at back (washers and bolt visible at front) and supported at back and underneath seat with rubber shock joints. Wooden rectangular arm rests attached to arms with bolts. Chair supported on upright shaft underneath seat composed of four chromed tubes soldered together. At bottom of shaft, these tubes splay out into four legs; legs terminate with tube being pressed together into flat foot; feet rest on plastic sliders. At top of shaft, two front tubes splay outward under seat and terminate with flattened ends; two back tubes rise together up center of chair back and end at arm rail.
CONDITION: Good; fiberglass body has small cracks around edges and on chair back; scratches on wooden arm rests; chromed tubing has big spot of lost chrome on proper left arm and all-over scuffs and rust spots, especially on shaft. |
