Lamp shade of colorless frosted glass with etched decoration (one of pair with 2001.51.2). Squat spherical body tapers to round opening at bottom. Everted rim around wide opening at top with alternating egg-and-dart border at edge. Body decorated with three repeated motifs of a dragonfly amidst branches with leaves and berries. Two narrow bands around bottom opening. Rim decorated with intertwined vine motif.
CONDITION: Excellent.
2001.52.1 installed with 41.980mn Herter Fireplace Mantle; paired specifically with sconce 41.980.77a-b.
Deinstalled August 2019 from 5th Floor American Gallery (5J31); Sconces stored at 6H19-1B at the time.
