Description | Sculpture of nude male human figure, possibly a standard bearer. Elegant sculpture of young man epitomizes the Aztec ideal of the human body with graceful, firm features. Eye and mouth depressions were often inlaid with shell. Hair is cap-like. Ears are large with perforated lobes for the insertion of ornaments. Condition: Lower arms and legs are broken and missing. Right arm appears to have been held in a raised position, perhaps to hold an object. |
