Description |
Pedestal made from solid piece of lathe-turned walnut. Composed of drum-shaped top with flat top and gently tapering sides; drum-shaped based (equal in diameter to and slightly higher than upper drum) with sides that bulge gently toward floor; a narrow, plain cylindrical shaft connects these two drums. The rings of the tree's core are visible in the top edge and other horizontal surfaces. Vertical cracks or splits, some large and some hairline cracks, appear along the sides of both drums.
