Description Federal style cherry tilt-top stand. Top in the shape of a square with serpentine edges and ovolo corners with metal latch on underside to secure and release the top. Top tilts with corners of the square top pointing up and down. Central standard in the form of ringed column over tall urn. Snake footed tripod base. Protruding knees with carved rosettes. Scalloping below center standard and at the underside of the upper portions of two legs. One leg without scalloping. Metal bracket system below central standard, securing dovetail joints where legs and standard meet. CONDITION - Replaced screw support brace connecting table top to pillar. A replaced leg without scalloping and a broken and glued portion of the large foot stabilized by several tacks. Another leg with break at mid-point, stabilized by screw. Modern metal bracket system below central pillar, also new wooden fragments.
