Description |
Folding Armchair. Wood, dark red plush upholstery, green rep upholstery to outer back. Barrel shaped upholstered back with applied wood crest with centered anthemion and symmetrical scrolled leaves to either side. Diagonal arms begin at crest and terminate in square block with applied turned buttons and acorn finial with dowel that fits into curved opening of square profile side member, to allow for folding action, that then curves back diagonally to become a rear leg. Turned front leg begins at side of crest and terminates in ball finial. Acorn capped dowel connects front and back leg and allows folding action. Three turned cross stretchers connect X-crossed legs: under rear seat, at bottom of front legs, and at bottom of back legs.
CONDITION - Original upholstry. Old break in proper left leg broken again. Remnants of old printed brown plush at sides and bottom of outer back. |
