Description Ceramic effigy vessel in the form of a whale with a modeled nose, mouth, tail, and dorsal and ventral fins. Upper portion of the whale is painted with brown slip; lower portion, with creamy white. An inverted, heart-shaped line encloses the facial features. Eyes are painted with an outer red circle, a creamy white iris, and a brown pupil. Two blind holes depict nostrils. Bottom of vessel is rounded. Condition: good; painted surface chipped in places and the piece has been covered with varnish (not original).
