Catalogue Description: The foot of the vase is circular and divided into four lobes with smaller lobes between them. Each of the four-lobed sections is decorated with enamel work of light green and gold with silver reserves of Celtic interlace pattern. The foot rises to a knob on the lower stem, which terminates in eight lobes at juncture with cup. The stem is decorated with enamel and the silver reserves are four tulips with whiplash leaves. Separating each tulip on the stem is an applied tendril, which conforms to the shape of the stem but is undercut at lower stem. The upper portion of the vase is circular and flattened. The lower half flares out gently to maximum diameter, the upper section is slight concave, angling in sharply from maximum diameter to 2 3/8" diameter at rim. Rim flares out slightly, has molded edge and four equally spaced standing cast crockets. Lower half is divided into four panels by repoussé tendrils. Each panel encloses flat-chased decoration of interlaced tendrils, geometric stylized tulip leaves and, at top, stylized tulip blossoms. On the upper half, the repoussé tendrils from below overlap the edge slightly and blossom into clusters of three cast tulips, each set with an opal, the center opal larger than the others. The chased decoration on the upper half of the cup includes dots along the outer edge and, above each set of opal tulips, a harp shape enclosing stems which sprout stylized tulips near rim of cup. Between each set of opal tulips on the upper cup is another harp shape enclosing an oval opal. Stylized tulips appear on each side of the lower part of each harp and a meander joins the harps.
