Catalogue Description: Limestone head of a youth, broken off at the neck. The long hair, which covers the ears, is arranged in a star-like pattern of locks over the brow: the sides of the face and neck are framed by a double row of large curls the centers of which are drilled. The mouth is small and straight with the lips protruding in the center. The corners of the mouth are drilled. The brows are curved, and the eye balls somewhat rounded. The cheeks are full, the nose fairly small, and the neck long. The neck curves slightly towards the right (the head was set at an angle to the body). The philtrum is indicated, and there is a depression beneath the lower lip. The head turns toward the left and is slightly raised. Condition: Large chips in right brow, chin, both cheeks, rear of head and around break at neck. Front and right half of tip of nose missing. Rear of head chipped and worn. Restoration (or remains of plaster or paint) on face and hair. Surface worn and scratched.
