Walnut and beech and seat upholstered; covered in needlework (gros and petit point). Queen Anne Style. Panel depicts exotic figures in various activities: some hunting, some singing, playing instruments, etc. with foliate background; all in polychrome, on blue ground. Needlework matches that on the wing chairs, 67.197.9-.10. Chair has tall back, framed with wooden strips; square seats, similarly framed; cabriole legs in front ending in pad feet. Turned stretchers. CONDITION - In spite of fading and moth damage, the needlework is in a remarkably good state of preservation. The chair is in fairly good shape with a few stretchers and pieces replaced.
