Catalogue Description: Decorated pine blanket chest with one drawer. The legs are cut in a simple half-circle from the end boards. A two-part half-round molding is used at either end of the front and to separate the drawer from the chest area. Below the drawer a thick plain molding is attached. The chest is decorated with an overall floral pattern which consists of a plant or tree-of-life and begins at the bottom of the center of the drawer and branches out over the drawer and chest area in a simple white line terminating at many places in petal flowers and tulip forms. The sides are plain, stained the same reddish-brown as the front. The mustard center, and the round - petalled flowers have blue petals with a brasses, in the original holes, are in the Queen Anne style. It was made in Taunton, Massachusetts. Condition: Completely worn and rotted where the lock originally was, otherwise minor wear but condition essentially good.
