Catalogue Description:
Chest, oak and pine, Hadley type, lift top with one drawer beneath the chest portion with two turned wooden knobs. Three inset rectangular panels across front, the center inscribed "MS." Overall front is decorated with incised carving in stylized leaf, tulip, and scroll motives. The sides are three inset panles. The stiles on the side are decorated with simple drawn lines and chamfered edges. Front painted black and dark red. Condition: Good. June 22, 1978: Hole in inset panel on left side. Lid slightly warped. Clests of lid are warped and coming loose from lid. Repair to right rear leg. Normal nicks and scratches in feet areas. Scratches around keyhole.
