Catalogue Description:
Coffee pot, silver and bone, with elaborate repoussé decorations; part of a 5-piece tea and coffee service. Pear-shaped body raised on round, slightly domed pedestal; hinged dome lid with attached molded flower finial; long, curving spout; opposing, squared handle that rises high above pot, two bone rings near collars of handle. Repoussé decorations: body covered with naturalistic landscape scenes with two men greeting each other on one side and woman with basket on her head in front of a house on the other, there are also buildings; trees, flowers, birds, butterflies, and a bridge over a stream in landscape; lid covered with flowers and leaves; spout has flowers and leaves near bottom and foliate forms near top opening; handle has flowers and scroll forms, and a ram's head at upper, outside corner; beaded and foliate bands around base of pedestal.
