Catalogue Description: Black steatite statuette of a nude, crouching Nubian. Body in contorted, writhing position with legs drawn up, arms flung around body as if to ward off a blow. Head twisted to left with mouth open. Hair indicated by drill holes, with surface unpolished. Surface of body highly polished. Pattern of ribs and spine conventionalized. Condition: Both feet missing. Right arm missing from just above elbow. Otherwise intact.
