Catalogue Description:
Four-cornered hat probably worn by an adult male and constructed of camelid fiber knotting with inserted pile which has been cut; there is a tubular hem approximately 5 cm. deep with yarn fuzz (NK). Design: birds (AR). Each of the four sides is divided into four squares with a bird in each square. The yarn colors employed are red, green, blue, white, yellow and brown. There are four red and dark brown tassels, one on each corner, and the central part of the crown is constructed of yellow/tan colored knotted camelid fiber.
