Catalogue Description:
Opaque glass inlay representing, in relief (rear surface flat), a human-headed recumbent sphinx wearing a “Nemes”. Its arms and human hands are extended forwards to hold a mummiform falcon-headed figure (canopic jar?). Both figures rest on a low plinth. The sphinx and the area of the base beneath him are a grass green; the falcon-headed figure and the part of the base beneath it as well as the sphinx’s hands are blue. Condition: Tan incrustation in hollows.
