Catalogue Description:
Green. Steatite “Lion Hunt” scarab of Amenophis III. Text commemorates the number of lions killed by Amenhotep III in his first ten regnal years. Originally covered with a bright light green glaze only faint traces of which remain. Pierced. Condition, inscription badly damaged, about quarter of it missing. Entire piece chipped and worn.
