Catalogue Description:
Large white porcelain, circular cache-pot with three figures of children, inspired by Kate Greenaway illustrations, each child standing on a small semi-circular plinth. Cache-pot molded to resemble a neo- classical wall, with balustrade at top and geometric cartouche at center with a horizontal thin band of small flowers at base. Attached are three vertical plinths with semi-circular balustrade base, on each base, a single figure of a child: a boy in a sailor suit with ruffle and hat, small female child in pinafore dress and soft bonnet and third figure of an older female child in bonnet and long dress with flounced sleeves; all the figures are modeled on Kate Greenaway children's book illustrations. Condition: Front brim of hat of little boy missing; chip to rim as well"; Chips to rim of hat of little girl in long smock. Small chips to rim of hat of girl in long dress. Discoloring rust stains to interior bottom of vessel.
