Catalogue Description:
(a) white bodied, ovoid, with lobbed ends, indented, with tall flaring rim, and squared bottom with short oval foot raised on four molded, applied scrolling feet. Aesthetic style design, transfer printed in blue. Front: horizontal, asymmetrical conifer design with starburst needles and pinecones; proper left: contained in a band, dense small floral design. Back: repeated, horizontal, asymmetrical design as on front. Proper right: contained in a band, large floral design with feathered petals, continuous under base to join front smaller dense floral design in band. Handles are molded and applied elephant heads with downward and inward curling trunks, highlighted in gold. Feet with centered fleur de lis highlighted in gold; four modern cork pads applied to feet. (b) conforming lid, with slightly raised center, with notch at short end and conifer pattern as on body; decorative bands as on body, of dense floral design and of dense large floral design with feathered petals meet behind handle. Applied handle, central part of handle anamorphic, with detail outlined in gold, lower part in shape of bird feet, highlighted in gold. Condition: very good with normal wear to gilding on handles and feet.
