Catalogue Description: This is a buffalo hide tipi made as a replica of the Lakota type of tipis used around the first half of the 19th century. Furnishings for inside the tipi are: a buffalo hide and a backrest made from wood and wood branches. see TL2010.88.2 and .3. Other furnishings include: tipi poles (19) approximately 16 1/2 feet long lacing pins (13) approximately 16 inches long x 1/4 inch diameter Stakes- (24) 11" x 1 1/4 diameter (without bolts to afix to a platform)
