Catalogue Description: Rectangular wood pedestal embellished with gilded gesso and pressed leather with blue silk-covered surface rising on four square legs, each engaged with two turned colonettes atop a stepped and bracketed base with interior surface covered in blue silk. Ornate Moorish-inspired illusionistic lambrequins on each side below top. Colored glass cabochons inset on either side of quatrefoil gilt decoration on upper portion of each leg. Strapwork on corners of base. Condition upon arrival: Dusty overall. 2 8" long cracks on the lower platform along the inside of the outer molding. 1" loss of molding on the lower platform. Corners of the top of the pedestal are worn; one worn to raw wood. Molding at one corner 1" from top is cracked with small loss. Blue silk velvet on top has small stains and possible fading outside a circle at center.
