Catalogue Description:
Carved Rococo Revival shaving stand (a) consisting of oval mirror (b) on shaft supported by rectangular table with drawer on cylindrical base with four outwardly curving feet. Framed mirror attached to allow tilting on half-circle support attached to elaborately turned vertically adjustable shaft that is embellished with C- and S-scrolls. Shaft rests on rose-colored marble deck that sits on cased drawer decorated with low-relief central foliate decoration and cylindrical corners with dropped finials. Base with gadrooning at bulging midsection above four elaborate symmetrical canted and curved scroll feet with dropped finial at center.
