Catalogue Description:
Ewer, ivory-bodied porcelain, baluster shape; molded around the shoulder with a gilt and bronzed frieze of putti entwined in foliate vines, with applied ivory-glazed molded-masks and a pendant molded satyr's mask; the body hand-painted on the front with three blossoming pink and red roses with leafage against a hazy multi-colored ground; the reverse similarly painted with a trailing rose-sprig; gilded mouth and c-scroll handle; the metallic green foot raised on a gilded circular base. Written in puce 'W. Jarman' on front to right of rose. Condition: Good, heavily restored on base, hairline crack on side of body.
