Catalogue Description: Birdhouse (a) and separate door (b), brown sewer pipe clay, salt glazed. The birdhouse is in the shape of a miniature log cabin with an exterior chimney, a window, one doorway and a roof. The individual logs are rather flat in appearance, and have a textured bark like surface created through incised lines. Exterior chimney has similar, although very faint lines. Through incised lines the roof has a tiled appearance. Interior surface is rough and undecorated. The detached door would have served as a landing area for birds. Its design is similar to the surface of the roof, with incised lines creating a 'tile' motif. Condition: Good overall condition. Minor chips throughout. Rough marks where the door was attached.
