Catalogue Description:
Pitcher, silverplate, ovoid body raised on splayed highly polished foot with wide cylindrical neck, broad spout and robust C-shaped handle applied near rim and mid-point of body. Narrow horizontal beaded band at mid-point of body. Overall dense leafy molded pattern on darkly patinated stippled ground interspersed with large gilded dragonflies, butterflies and humming birds. Horizontal band at transition to neck with molded turtle, lobster, lizard, bat, crab and frog against a gilt grid ground. Highly polished handle with two studded bands framing patinated narrow channels. CONDITION: Very good; gold plating intact; interior slightly tarnished.
