Catalogue Description: Chair, Stained maple, beech, upholstered slip-seat and armpads. Back composed of two canted, identical open elements which meet at centerback. Each side of back consists of paired cusped arches below a quatrefoil inside a single larger ogival arch rising to a large finial. Lower portions of rear and front ribbed posts are octagonal with vertically-placed recessed rectangular panels which taper to pointed lower legs and small bun feet. Arms are padded with remnants of faded fabric terminating in grotesque mask handholds; bearded lion's head with pointed ears and ram's horns. Sided of arms with three pointed ribbed arches below armpads. Seat rail with oblong-shaped lozenges around front and sides. Rear seat rails are undecorated. Original stained faux-walnut finish. CONDITION: Good.
