Catalogue Description:
Wallet, leather and metal with silver mounts. Rectangular wallet with rounded corners of dark brown textured leather. Back flap folds over to front where it is secured by a circular, hinged disc clasp of silver with applied, molded and engraved decoration of heron, cattails and birds. Each corner edge of the flap is mounted with silver boomerang-shaped mount with applied molded and engraved decoration of a heron, cattails and birds flanked by a dragonfly and a grasshopper. Wallet has accordion-fold interior with six compartments. The first compartment has fold-over flap and the fourth has a metal rim and closure. CONDITION: Some wear to leather on edges; whitish residue from polish on leather near mounts. Oxidation to mounts; corrosion to metal mounts of fourth interior compartment and interior of hinged disc on front.
