Catalogue Description: Dinner Plate, Porcelain. Cream ground. Green border to rim edge. Wide border of four paired brown and blue birds with white u-shaped worm between each pair. Inscription in two parts on brown ground with green band above and below. Inscription above: "PRAISE - WITH - NIGHTINGALE - WORDS - NAY - I - WILL - PRAISE - HIM - INSTEAD". Inscription below: " HEAR! -I-WILL-SING-YOU- THE-PRAISE-OF-THE- BOTTLE-TAILED-RIKKI-WITH-EYEBALLS-OF-RED". Center with oval medallion with blue border with green rodent-like animal with red eyes on brown ground superimposed on green tails of two opposed green, brown and blue snake-like creatures. One of a set of twelve dinner plates, all different, with quotes from R. Kipling; see 1990.145.16 - .27 CONDITION -Very good original condition.
