Catalogue Description:
Fork; a silver-plate dinner fork with four straight tines. Handle is undecorated until mid-point small floral roundel with conforming geometric band above and pointed motif below. Open field above intended for initials. Into slightly arched crest is molded realistic scene of swan in profile on rippling water with leafy plant to left and one above. Zigzag border set below arched crest and stylized floral motif extends from semi-circular band below scene. Reverse with identical motif at mid-point and conventionalized symmetrical floral motif framing upper end of crest and trailing down sides. Condition: Fair original condition. Plate loss to upper and lower sides of tines, lower half of handle and sides of upper half of handle. Swan scene worn.
