Sides of handle then flare out to the end of the handle where they angle inward to form a triangular crest interrupted by symmetrical scrolls near the top of triangle. Molded highly conventionalized anthemion motif at the beginning of handle. There is a related abstract arrow and scroll motif in the central circular projection against vertical striations within this projection. In the triangular cap is a larger version of the motif at the beginning of the handle just below the symmetrical scrolls that project at the triangular cap of the handle. The reverse has identical decoration. Persian Pattern. Condition: Very good. Normal wear, slight overall scratching. Slight loss of plate on reverse at base of tines.
