Catalogue Description: Everted mouth; straight body that slightly contracts; flat base; high foot with lower section flaring outward. 2 black lines encircling cup's center and mouth's rim. 3 black lines encircling mouth rim of exterior, belly, and upper section of foot. Floral patterns in black between lines on exterior mouth rim and belly. First application of white slip on body. Black pigment was then painted on slip. Finally, an application of clear glaze to create the black design against white ground. No slip or clear glaze on high foot. Wine cup. Condition: Intact. Cracks on high foot. Old Accession Card: Stoneware stem cup with transparent glaze and underglaze drawing in brown slip. Freely drawn floral motif on exterior and two concentric circles on bottom of interior. The bas is cone-shaped. Tzu-chou [Cizhou] ware. Condition: Line crack curving from tiny chips in foot rim around stem to base of bowl with "Y" branch curving straight up to base of bowl."
