CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION
Colorless, octagonal glass plate with molded, incised, and frosted decorations. In center of plate, molded with incised details on underside: staggered profile portrait busts of King George VI and Elizabeth wearing crowns (George VI in front); below them is the U.S. coat-of-arms and a furling banner incised, "JUNE 1939 / GEORGE VI AND ELIZABETH / UNITED STATES VISIT". Surrounding area of plate's round center is frosted glass with molded decorations of three arrows on one side of portraits and laurel (?) branch on other. Rim divided into eight sections; every other section decorated with a heraldic emblem or coat-of-arms molded into underside, with some frosted areas. Clockwise from top: shield with harp, frame of heart formed by naked and winged female torso; shield with prancing royal lion; shield with dragon; shield with three lions.
CONDITION: Good; dirty; thin patch of yellowish matter stuck on underside of footrim.
