Frequent Art Questions

  • What is this?

All the works in that corner are depictions of cities in the years between the World Wars, when the United States was becoming an industrial power and a world economic power. This work is on long-term loan to the Brooklyn Museum. It was painted during the Great Depression of the 1930s, and the artist was most likely working as part of a federal assistance program for artists.
    Cool, thank you.
