    CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Limestone trial piece with head of man facing to the right in low sunk relief. Above this is a clenched hand pointing to the left. The head is rather stylized and has a more elaborate headdress than the trial piece 36.872. The details are typical of the period. The hand is not so well worked as is the head, the thumb being badly proportioned. Traces of red paint on both hands and head. Condition: there are minor chips in the relief and incrustations of sand on the surface.
