Toilet Spoon in the Shape of a Bouquet of Flowers
1 of 2
Object Label
Like many late Eighteenth Dynasty spoons, this example takes the form of a floral bouquet. The decoration includes lotus and papyrus blossoms, marguerites, poppy buds, and a mandrake fruit. In antiquity the lower part of the handle was decorated with the stalks of flowers; some of the original ivory and paste inlays are now missing.
