Paracas Necropolis. Tabard, 200–600 C.E.. Leather; semi-tanned skins and fiber thread Conservation report by ASF dated 6/5/86 notes that under a microscope the presence of quill shafts protruding from the skin pores is indicated. It has been suggested that this may be the skin of a Coendous porcupine, native to the coastal areas of Peru (see Nowek, R. M. & J. L. Parades, eds., "Walker's Mammals of the World", 4th edition, v.
