    CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Pair of six-panel screens offering a bird's-eye view of the city of Kyoto, specifically the central area around the Imperial Palace, which is depicted in the left screen, and the western area around the Nijo and Katsura palaces, seen in the right screen. The screens represent the procession and floats of the Gion festival, which took place every summer, as well as kabuki performances and many other urban activities, all of them glimpsed from between gold clouds.
