CATALOGUE DESCRIPTION Low table made from three interlocking pieces of white, clear-glazed porcelain. The table mimicks the low wood stands once used in Korean daily life and particularly in ancestral and Buddhist rituals to present offerings of food before an altar. Piece consists of a broad, flat table top of slightly pocked porcelain with one rectangular notch in one side; a leg of complex rectilinear form that fits into the notch and supports the top from below while also protruding along one side; and another leg that fits at the opposite corner, again in complex rectilinear form.
